ABOUT THE MATCH

Bangladesh’s tour of Indian 2019 is yet to get underway and there have already been a number of controversies around it. It started with the player’s strike in Bangladesh that threatened the tour, the shocking ban of Shakib Al Hasan for not reporting fixing approaches from bookies took over the news next, and uncertainty about the match being played because of the pollution in New Delhi hogged the headlines next.
It has now been confirmed that the 1st T20 between India and Bangladesh is going to go ahead as scheduled at the newly renamed Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi. The players are going to be playing under a blanket of smog and while some of the players may find the conditions tough, we don’t think there is going to be any letup in the intensity of the match.

India vs Bangladesh 1st T20 2019 is going to be played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, New Delhi on the 3rd of November 2019.

MATCH PREVIEW

INDIA
Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah are the two big names that are going to be missing from this series but apart from that India has picked its first-choice side to face Bangladesh. Every single T20 match is going to be important looking ahead to the T20 World Cup in 2020 and players will want to lock down their places as soon as possible.

Rohit Sharma will be leading the side in the first match against Bangladesh and have a strong set of players to choose from. Rohit and Shikhar Dhawan are set to open the inning but the rest of the batting order is pretty fluid.

Shreyas Iyer has played well in the middle order and is likely to get his position of 4/5. Lokesh Rahul, Sanju Samson, or even Rishab Pant are options for number three. Manish Pandey should get a look-in at number 6 but that is not set in stone either.

Krunal Pandya, Washington Sundar, and Shivam Dube offer the all-round options for this series. We think that Krunal Pandya and Washington Sundar are likely to start in the first match since Delhi always offers a little something for the spinners.

Deepak Chahar is almost guaranteed a place in the starting eleven after showing his wicket-taking ability in the powerplays is not just limited to the IPL. Khaleel Ahmed should get the second seamer’s slot while one out of Rahul Chahar or Yuzvendra Chahal will take the spinner’s place.

We think it is Rahul Chahar that will be given the first preference over Yuzvendra Chahal to start the series.
India has probably the best bench strength in world cricket right now and this is why it can choose to rest some of its best players and still have intense competition for every single spot in the playing eleven.

BANGLADESH
The loss of Shakib Al Hasan in such a dramatic fashion has stunned Bangladesh, not just the cricket team but the entire country. Not only was Shakib the best ever cricketer to come out for the country and at the peak of his powers but he was also seen as a role model.

With a player’s strike for better pay attracting a lot of attention back home, the Bangladeshi players are going to be under intense scrutiny this entire tour.

There is currently no more difficult job in world cricket than touring India.
Bangladesh has come close to beating India on a couple of occasions but found a way to lose every time. The most recent T20 match was the Nidahas T20 Tri-Series Final where Dinesh Karthik managed to steal the game with some outrageous hitting in the final over.

Leading the side for this tour is going to be Mahmudullah. We are not sure how good a captain he is based on his results in the Bangladesh Premier League but he will have some very experienced players to fall back on.

India vs Bangladesh 1st T20 Match Prediction & Dream11 Tips

Mushfiqur Rahim and Mustafizur Rahman will be the two players that Mahmudullah can get valuable insight from. Rahim is going to be one of the leading batsmen for the side while Mustafizur has played in the IPL for the last few seasons and knows the conditions very well.

Soumya Sarkar, Liton Das, Mahmudullah, Mushfiur Rahim, Mohammad Mithun, and Mosaddek Hossain are expected to be in the starting eleven for Bangladesh in Delhi. They form an experienced batting order that must start playing more consistently after plenty of time in the international arena.
Taijul Islam, Shaiful Islam, Mustafizur Rahman, Al-Amin Hossain, and the all-rounders will be expected to shoulder the bowling.

Bangladesh’s bowling is not very good and apart from Mustafizur Rahman, the others are not proven match-winners. We believe that Bangladesh must find something special from its batting lineup to be able to beat India otherwise its bowling is going to struggle against a very strong Indian lineup.

India has never hosted Bangladesh for a full series and the first time they do so, the welcome has been far from pleasing. From the cricketing point of view, India has players to identify and issues to sort. Rohit Sharma spoke at great length about how the team is trying to work on setting a target. The India captain, though, stressed the focus will be on giving the players the freedom and a certain level of comfort for the team to bag wins. India continues to grapple with the same questions but the unavailability of Virat Kohli opens up a spot for the team to try out more players.

India vs Bangladesh 1st T20 Match Prediction & Dream11 Tips

For Bangladesh, as confirmed by Mahmudullah, the focus is on the batting department. The bowling unit is fairly settled and the team will look to quickly identify big-hitters which they have been lacking for a while. None of their batsmen have a strike rate of more than 135 since the last ICC T20 World Cup apart from Liton Das. Needless to say, against a dominant Indian side, they'll need all the batting firepower they can to challenge the hosts.

What: India vs. Bangladesh, 1st T20I, 7 pm IST

Where: Arun Jaitley Stadium, New Delhi

What to expect: There was a tinge of grass on the eve of the game and that should mean the wicket will play a lot better. With all the pollution and smog, dew won't be a massive factor but the teams will prefer to chase.

Team news:

India: Rohit Sharma confirmed one of Shivam Dube or Sanju Samson will play the contest. While Samson had a long session, Dube wasn't present at the optional net session. The first challenge for the think-tank will be to sort the issue of No. 3 - whether they want to play KL Rahul or keep him as the backup opener. Shreyas Iyer has earned his spot and Rishabh Pant will be the designated 'keeper.

Probable XI: Rohit Sharma (c), Shikhar Dhawan, KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant (wk), Shivam Dube/Sanju Samson, Krunal Pandya, Washington Sundar, Deepak Chahar, Shardul Thakur/Khaleel Ahmed, Yuzvendra Chahal/Rahul Chahar.

Bangladesh: With Tamim Iqbal out of the tour, Soumya Sarkar and Liton Das are set to open. Al-Amin Hossain should be back in the side to partner Mustafizur while Arafat Sunny is also likely to make a comeback.

Probable XI: Soumya Sarkar, Liton Das, Mohammad Mithun, Mushfiqur Rahim (wk), Mahmudullah (c), Mosaddek Hossain, Afif Hossain, Arafat Sunny, Mustafizur Rahman, Al-Amin Hossain, Abu Hider/Taijul Islam.

Did you know?

Rohit Sharma will become the most capped male Indian player in T20Is. He'll go past MS Dhoni and will play his 99th T20I.

India has won all their eight T20Is against Bangladesh and it's the second most one-sided rivalry after Pakistan-Zimbabwe.

Post ICC T20 World Cup in 2016, India has a win percentage of 63.83 and Bangladesh have won just 33.33 percent of their games.
