Australia vs Pakistan 1st T20 Prediction - Dream11 Betting Tips

AUS Team News
Glenn Maxwell has withdrawn from the squad to mental health concerns, with D’Arcy Short replacing the popular all-rounder. Ben McDermott came into the team last time out, however, instead. Mitchell Starc is available again, after missing the second match against Sri Lanka to attend his brother’s wedding. Andrew Tye will be out for a further four months, however, after needing surgery to correct his troublesome elbow injury.

AUS Key Players
David Warner: In supreme form for Australia on his T20i return, he started the series with Sri Lanka with an unbeaten century and added scores of 60* and 57* in the final two matches to move past 2,000 T20i runs.
Aaron Finch: Opened the series with Sri Lanka by scoring 64 from 36 balls and concluded it with 37 from 25 balls in another handy partnership with Warner at the top of the order.
Adam Zampa: Took 3-14 and 2-20 in the first two matches of the series with Sri Lanka and could be a key bowler at Sydney too as he looks to add to his 28 T20i wickets – and maintain an impressive economy rate of 5.86 runs per over.

AUS Team Form
Australia was in fine form against Sri Lanka, cruising to three comfortable victories with David Warner in fine batting form. He hit an unbeaten century in a total of 233/2 in the first game, before they restricted Sri Lanka to 99/9. In the second match, they bowled Sri Lanka out for 117 and Warner top-scored with 60* in a nine-wicket win. Then, to round off the series, Warner’s unbeaten 57 from 50 balls led them to a seven-wicket win against the Sri Lankans.

Australia vs Pakistan 1st T20 Prediction - Dream11 Betting Tips

PAK Team News
Pakistan’s response to their crushing home defeat to Sri Lanka is to turn to youth in the form of Musa Khan and also to recall the giant paceman Mohammad Irfan. Khushdil Shah and Usman Qadir – who has Big Bash experience – are also included. Babar Azam will lead the team, while Mohammad Rizwan will be behind the stumps.

PAK Key Players

Babar Azam: Came up short in the T20i series against Sri Lanka, but has recovered his form in the domestic game with scores of 102* and 83 among his four T20 innings for Central PNJB.
Shadab Khan: A key player when Pakistan beat Australia in the UAE, he started this tour with three wickets in the warm-up game against the CA XI.
Mohammad Irfan: The veteran, giant left-arm seamer is expected to flourish in Australian conditions – which could make him a key player in next year’s World T20. He started this tour with 1-19 from four overs in the warm-up win, taking a wicket with his first ball.

PAK Team Form
Pakistan slumped to three defeats out of three against Sri Lanka in their most recent T20i series, despite the tourists having a significantly weakened squad. They were bowled out for 101 and 147 to lose the first two matches by 64 runs and 35 runs respectively, and could then only reach 134/6 chasing 148 to win the final game.

AUS vs PAK Dream11 Prediction

Wicket-keeper(s)
Mohammad Rizwan will come into the team behind the stumps for Pakistan, while Alex Carey continues to keep for Australia. Both are 8.5 credits, but Carey’s form is less of a risk than Rizwan’s.

Batsmen
While they all come at a cost, the top batsmen certainly merit their big prices. David Warner is 10.5 credits, but after an unbeaten century and two unbeaten half-centuries against Pakistan that is justified. Aaron Finch and Steve Smith both hit half-centuries in that series, meanwhile, and make up the Australian top three with Warner. For Pakistan, Babar Azam reclaimed his best form in the domestic T20, and the return of Imam-ul-Haq bolsters their batting line-up too. The latter is just 8.5 credits as well, which is a good balance to the cost of the above.

All-rounders
With Glenn Maxwell absent, there is actually little choice on the all-rounder front. Imad Wasim showed touches of form against Sri Lanka, while Ashton Agar picked up wickets against the same opponents. At 8.5 and eight credits respectively, they are worth selection.

Bowlers
That leaves three bowling spaces to fill, and Shadab Khan and Mohammad Irfan have already made a positive start to this tour for Pakistan. At 8.5 credits each, you have nine credits for your final over – so all but Mitchell Starc are available. Pat Cummins and Mohammad Amir are top picks, but Adam Zampa’s recent form suggests he will be great value at 8.5 credits too.

Captain/vice-captain
David Warner’s batting form makes him very hard to ignore for Australia. If he picks up where he left off, he will soon be racking up points again. For vice-captain, if the Sydney wicket spins then Adam Zampa is in good form, while Shadab Khan will be a key figure for Pakistan. Shadab has already taken three wickets on this tour too, so probably edges it.

Australia vs Pakistan 1st T20 Prediction - Dream11 Betting Tips

Where: Sydney Cricket Ground, Sydney

What to expect: Considering this will be the first match at the SCG this season, both teams would want to bowl first. With rain expected during the game, the decision becomes way easier.

Team News

Australia: Considering they will be playing their third game in five days and a fourth in another 48 hours, Australia will be looking to rotate their pace attack. Maxwell's absence will likely give Ben McDermott another opportunity ahead of D'Arcy Short in the middle order.

Probable XI: Aaron Finch (c), David Warner, Steve Smith, Ben McDermott, Ashton Turner, Alex Carey (wk), Ashton Agar, Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins/Billy Stanlake/Sean Abbott, Adam Zampa, Kane Richardson

Pakistan: Mohammad Irfan might be 37 years old. He might not have featured for Pakistan in more than three years but the tall left-arm seamer is expected to play now at the SCG. He was also impressive in the practice game, bowling a maiden, picking up a wicket and conceding just 19 runs in his four overs.

Probable XI: Babar Azam (c), Fakhar Zaman, Haris Sohail, Mohammad Rizwan (wk), Asif Ali, Iftikhar Ahmed, Imad Wasim, Wahab Riaz, Shadab Khan, Mohammad Amir, Mohammad Irfan

What they said:

"It's an attack that you don't get any respite. But they are going to give you scoring opportunities and you're going to chase them. It's a T20 game at the end of the day." - Aaron Finch on Pakistan's bowling attack

"He's one of Australia's really good batsmen. We have our frontline bowlers, we have a strategy ready for David. Obviously, once he gets going, he gets going but we have a strategy in place for all facets." - Babar Azam on David Warner's red-hot form

Pakistan (From):
Fakhar Zaman, Babar Azam(c), Imam-ul-Haq, Mohammad Rizwan(w), Haris Sohail, Imad Wasim, Asif Ali, Iftikhar Ahmed, Wahab Riaz, Shadab Khan, Mohammad Amir, Mohammad Irfan, Khushdil Shah, Mohammad Hasnain, Usman Qadir, Muhammad Musa

Australia (From):
Aaron Finch(c), David Warner, Steven Smith, Ben McDermott, Ashton Turner, Alex Carey(w), Ashton Agar, Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Kane Richardson, Adam Zampa, Billy Stanlake, Andrew Tye

Australia looks a lot stronger after welcoming back David Warner, Steve Smith, and a fully-fit Mitchell Starc. But they have also incorporated a few changes that haven't been put to the test. They have managed to fit two spinners in their playing XI even if that requires Ashton Agar to bat at number 7. Even though Agar has shown in the BBL that he is more than capable with the bat in the format, to unleash him against international opposition in a crucial phase would be a test. In Glenn Maxwell's absence, Ashton Turner will have to shoulder more responsibility in the middle order even though he appears to be not 100% fit.

But how much of a challenge will Pakistan pose? Sri Lanka, who had a miserable series now, recently paid them a visit with a depleted squad and went on to shock them with a 3-0 result. One more drubbing here will most likely see them surrender their top spot in the T20I rankings. Pakistan has made changes in personnel by dropping Sarfaraz Ahmed and handing over the reins to Babar Azam. Sarfaraz's replacement Mohammad Rizwan can prove to be an exciting option in the middle order but the onus will be on Babar every time they step out to bat.

And how about David Warner? He made 217 runs in the Sri Lanka series without getting dismissed and Pakistan will have to come up with something special to stop a man who seems to have mastered this format. In Mohammad Amir, Mohammad Irfan and Wahab Riaz, they definitely have a pace attack good enough to cause problems.

Pakistan themselves are a rejuvenated lot, with fresh plans - stemming from their domestic structure revamp - to experiment with. The captaincy has changed hands, and the performances from the domestic T20 tournament have been rewarded. The return of the 37-year old Mohammad Irfan being a case in point. The domestic tournament was scheduled in a way that the standout players get to tour Australia. How well does this stand up against the test Down Under, remains to be seen?
